Our country has been built by immigrants from all over our planet. And families, from whatever country, shouldn’t be separated by borders.
Immigration fuels innovation, our economy, our culture.
For @realDonaldTrump and administration officials like @Scavino45 to attack this institution is un-American.
Trying to paint immigrants as criminals, as security threats, as burdens on our nation’s infrastructure is reprehensible.
Relying on racist tropes and pandering to a xenophobic, nationalist base to stoke anti-immigrant sentiment is, well, beyond reprehensible.

Many friends, coworkers, and family members are here on various visas, or have green cards, and seek citizenship.
We should be welcoming those who want to be Americans, and working, as a country, to offer that privilege to as many people as possible.
I wish Viktor & Amalija the best. I hope, as Americans, they help keep the door open for others (and their families) seeking citizenship.
