I discovered Mahasweta Devi’s writing via @lenazun’s awesome @ReadMoreWomen bot. Though not by a Tweet about Devi herself.

Spivak, per Wikipedia, had, along with authoring her own works of literary criticism and philosophy, translated a number of Devi’s books.
The local bookstore had a few copies of Devi’s excellent short stories, so I picked up a couple for the trip.
Intense stuff, and was fascinating to gain a perspective on a region and era that I’m unfamiliar with (Naxalite uprisings/suppression in 1970s West Bengal).
Anyway, Devi was a great find, and I encouraged you all to follow @ReadMoreWomen.
