@pt @chr1sa @allafarce @MikeIsaac New programming languages & runtimes are often easier for engineers to pick up than APIs/frameworks of applications written by other people.
@pt @chr1sa @allafarce @MikeIsaac I think the existing market of employable developers who know/like language X means less than many companies believe.
@pt @chr1sa @allafarce @MikeIsaac Also, the cost of re-implementing *everything* in a new language/programming paradigm is huge.

@pt @chr1sa @allafarce @MikeIsaac Switching out the runtime while keeping the OG code base was a pretty amazing feat by FB and probably was a huge advantage.
