It’s definitely a metric orgs should be looking at managing. I believe teams grow stronger the longer they are together.

A useful question is: "How long, on average, does an IC have the same manager and how long, on average, is the time between IC promotions?"
If the former is smaller than the latter it’s time for some organizational introspection.
