@micheal I think it’s important to avoid conflating open-source with the "public cloud".
@micheal IIRC AWS SQS predates Kafka by like 5 years or so.
@micheal Why would LinkedIn “compete” with an existing commodity like SQS?
@micheal Simply put, local innovation is cheap (above a certain market cap) when compared to a commercial product in a commoditized space.
