@ryanoneill Too much overhead for trivial tasks. This is exacerbated by git, so maybe a better statement is "I hate git-based monorepos of a certain size."

@ryanoneill Like today I need to checkout a sub-directory for an orthogonal, leaf component (a JVM log util).
@ryanoneill I fucked up the threading on this. Sigh.
@ryanoneill Our customers want easy access to the latest JAR w/o having to build from source every time.
@ryanoneill And setting up a brand new CI loop to publish this JAR to Packer seems like a lot more work with a large monorepo sitting in the way.
@ryanoneill Anyway, I'll concede that there are legit use cases for monorepos, they just don't seem to be mine for the most part.
@ryanoneill This component should probably not be in the main monorepo FWIW.
