#BART etiquette pro-tip: if you don’t need to use an ADA gate, don’t.
Because they are bi-directional, activating a gate from one side de-activates the opposite side for several seconds.
During high-volume travel times this can effectively pin the ADA gate in one direction.

So even if it’s free and the lines are long, use the non-ADA faregates if you are able to.
