Got a chance to talk to BART’s GM Bob Powers this morning about elevators, accessibility, and ADA gates.

As I mentioned:

1) BART should focus more on #a11y and less on fare-evasion suppression.

2) The elevator attendant program is amazing, as are the attendants/heroes themselves. It should be at every station!

Especially the 16th and 24th Mission stations! /cc: @BevanDufty

3) We need more than one ADA gate at each gate array to allow easy bi-directional traffic for bikes, strollers, and wheelchairs. #a11y

4) Bob, you gotta get a @twitter account. People on here are actually pretty nice. Most of the time.

But if you want to make BART better you need to be listening to rider feedback in real-time. Not just from a small sample of commuters.
