Ok, *not* transparent, which is good. Unfortunately I managed to uncover a bug in my alt-text support.
IMO it was JSON’s fault.
Intended alt-text: "A scribbled note that reads (in a maroon color): 'DOES THIS IMAGE HAVE A TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND?'"...
